Focus Pilates is a host centre for Polestar Pilates instructor education, the most comprehensive internationally recognised instructor training course available in Singapore. In addition to doing Polestar Pilates instructor courses all our instructors also participate in ongoing in-house instructor education (the most extensive in Singapore). You will also notice trainees who are observing and assisting in classes as they gain skills and experience to work toward their apprenticeship level.

Mr. Daniel Dittmar

Daniel has been teaching Pilates and Personal Training for over 10 years in 3 different countries; including the worlds number 1 Destination Spa, Chiva-Som in Thailand. Along with his Polestar certifications in Allegro, Mat and Studio he has also trained with Lynne Robinson of body Control Pilates and Rehabilitation Dynamics in Australia. Daniels' approach to exercise and physical activity is based on sound biomechanics and physiological principles and is known for his comprehensive approach to exercise programming. He has also spent time lecturing for a Diploma in Sport and Exercises course, corporate health topics and lectured for FISAF personal training courses.

Ms. Dawn Yeong

Was first introduced to Pilates in 2002. Her initial reaction was amazement at how gentle, yet effective this exercise had on the body especially in terms of making it stronger and more flexible. She also found that this exercise method has given her greater body awareness. The desire to have a deeper understanding of how the body moves led her to become a certified Pilates Instructor with Pilates International and has been involved in teaching Pilates (both mat work and studio work) for more than 3 years. To continue her interest in Pilates, she is currently pursuing other certification programmes in studio and allegro from Polestar.

Danny's keen interest in exercises and fitness had led him to discover Polestar Pilates. As he has fully experienced the benefits of pilates, he was convinced that it would greatly benefit others as well. So, he gave up his job as a web designer to train and teach full time. Besides being certified in Polestar Allegro And Studio, Danny has also recently earned his certification to teach Sivananda yoga.

Ille May Corder

holds a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy (Philippines). Her interest in improving her physical fitness exposed her to the benefits Pilates. She began participating in Pilates group classes in 2006 and has completed Polestar Rehab/Studio series of courses. Personally she has greatly benefited from Pilates through increased stamina, strength and proper body alignment.

Ms. Michele Loh

Michele is an avid Pilates practitioner and started practicing Pilates as a way to develop her core strength and to correct the muscular imbalances in her body. Ever since she discovered Pilates, she has continued to be amazed by the precision and scientific foundation of Pilates to compliment her Yoga practice and teaching which she has been doing for more than 8 years. Michele has completed the comprehensive Polestar Studio course and is now preparing for her final exam. She is also a certified Yoga instructor accredited with Yoga Alliance USA.

Ms.Sun Bok

Sun’s past experience as a Group Exercise Instructor for 15 years as well as in personal training for 6 years, allows her to customize exercises according to people needs. Through Pilates she has improved her physical health to resist the body workload of the fitness industry, and has developed a deeper understanding of herself to limit physical injuries and do safe workouts.
She says “Never stop learning is a key to help people surrounding you”.

Kirsten Gerskowitch

Kirsten discovered Pilates after being diagnosed with degenerated discs. Keen to take a pro-active approach to her journey back to a happy and healthy body, Kirsten embarked on the path to becoming a Polestar instructor, initially to enable her to take a self help approach to her health. Kirsten soon realized the immense benefits of Pilates not only for herself but for everyone and started teaching at Focus to enable her to pass on her knowledge and enable others to enjoy the benefits of Pilates. Coming from a corporate background, Kirsten often finds complacency in friends and colleagues attitude to aches and pains, it being accepted as a 'modern living'. Through her own experience, Kirsten has come to realize that through Pilates everyone can have a strong, flexible body and a happy and healthy mind.


Tracey Nguyen Physiotherapist and Pilates Instructor specializing in back and neck injury rehabilitation

Tracey Nguyen

Tracey specializes in sports injury treatments; her biggest motivation is helping patients understand their injuries and subsequently, recovering from their pain. She has a Bachelors' of Physiotherapy from the University of South Australia and practiced physiotherapy in Australia for 4 years, where she was exposed to a wide range of sports injuries.

Along with traditional methods of physiotherapy she often incorporates Pilates exercises into her treatment regime to help her patients get better faster.

Dragana Obajdin Senior Physiotherapist and Pilates Instructor specializing in musculoskeletal disorders

Dragana Obajdin

Dragana is a very experienced Physiotherapist with more than 21 years experience treating patients using physiotherapy. She specializes in treating different musculoskeletal disorders that affect the back, neck, upper and lower limbs, sports injuries and neurological deficits.

Dragana took up Pilates and completed courses in Clinical Pilates and Polestar Pilates to complement her physiotherapy training. She is able to adapt Pilates exercises for her therapy programme, especially for patients with back and neck issues.

She has found Pilates instrumental in speeding up a patient's recovery period. It also gives long term benefits including strength and flexibility, good balance, alignment, body awareness with motor control and helps reduce pains and improves a person's quality of daily and sports activities.

Adele Ang Physiotherapist specializing in sports and musculoskeletal physiotherapy

Adele Ang

Having spent ten of her 14 years as a physiotherapist practicing sports medicine, Adele has a wide-ranging experience in treating sports injuries of swimmers, badminton players, marathon runners and track and field athletes, among others. Of these ten years, five were spent at the Singapore Sports Council where she worked with national athletes. With the surge in interest among Singaporeans in running and endurance sports.

Adele is well positioned to help rehabilitate those who have sustained injuries due to their sporting activities so they can return to their sport in top form.
