Strength and Conditioning classes taught at both Beginner and Intermediate levels, and are specially designed and unique sessions incorporating Pilates exercises and challenging suspension training; conducted with the same intense focus on technique and alignment as a regular Pilates class. The Pilates portion of the class features exercises using either tower or reformer equipment, while the suspension training is with TRX.
TRX stands for Total Resistance eXercise, and is a system involving two suspended straps connected to an overhead anchor point. A wide variety of exercises can be performed, leveraging on gravity and body weight. By simply adjusting the body position further away or closer to the anchor point, the challenge of the exercise can be decreased or increased, and therefore customised to a client’s level of experience and strength.
What makes these classes so unique is that the TRX exercises are combined with exercises on traditional Pilates equipment such as the Tower (Orchard) and the Reformers (Raffles Place).
Beginner level classes require participants to be familiar with Beginner Reformer and have completed at least 10 Beginner Reformer classes prior to joining. For Intermediate level classes, you need to have completed at least 10 Intermediate Reformer or Tower classes. This class is not recommended for people with sensitive injuries.
